Owning a dog is life-long commitment. Improperly trained, or dogs with no training at all, too often are surrendered to shelters where very few are adopted to new families. At Loyal Companion, we strive to offer the best training available to avoid problems great enough to cause people to give up.

A Little About What We Do
Our training is always based on a mutual respect and positive reinforcement. We go out of our way to make sure you and your pet will enjoy the training. A happy dog is a dog that will learn faster. Our training is fun, fair and as firm as necessary.

Reliability in the most stressful of conditions is our goal.

At Loyal Companion our trainers will assess the behavior and energy level of your dog to determine the most advantageous method to train your dog.

We know from experience that not all dogs or behavior issues can be trained reliably with only one training method or philosophy. For this reason we will adopt a training style specifically for your individual needs. What works for one dog may not work for the next, which is why a good trainer must be flexible. Our ultimate objective for any dog is off-lead obedience with reliability in high stress situations. It is a lot of work with the owner and dog to get to this point, but can be accomplished with persistence and consistency. All of our training programs are geared to give you the necessary foundation for quality obedience.

Our board and train as well as the six week one-on-one classes have been very successful. The one on one classes require the owner to become very involved and perform the maintenance training each week on their own. The board and train program has, by far, been the most successful and satisfactory for our customers. This program allows several trainers to work your dog on a daily basis for a two or four week period. A quality foundation of obedience is established with the dog while the owner meets with the trainers as much as possible to transfer the leash handling to the owner. Any of the training is as much for the owner as it is the dog. The owners must get involved in any of our programs to make the training worth while. Obedience is a journey, not a destination.

We offer free follow-up visits for any of the board and train customers one year after the completion of the program for any problems you may continue to have.
